Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a b12 injection and later that evening became very dizzy and week. When I went to bed a few hours later the room was spinning and when I tried to sleep on my left side it was intensified severely and I became immediately sick at my stomach. The next day I had diarrhea and the dizziness continued. I still feel off balance and feverish. Could the b12 injection be the cause? I ve had b12 many times before but never had these symptoms. Really frightened me.
Hello, B12 is a natural vitamin that's necessary for many body functions. Normal people have a lot of B12 stored in their liver (mostly) and muscles. B12 injections replenish body stores when B12 is missing. The injections are not supposed to cause any discomfort. Very rarely diarrhea and flushing have been reported by patients only on treatment initiation (probably caused by allergic reactions). Since you've had many B12 injections so far, it is unlikely that the last injection caused these symptoms to you. A gastroenteritis is far more likely but there is not enough data to be sure. If these symptoms appear again next month or whenever you get another injection then B12 could be the cause. I just doubt they will! I hope I've addressed your concerns! If you have more questions on the subject, I'll be glad to answer. Kind Regards!
