Hello,
this is not very likely to happen but I'll give you some insight!
There are certain drugs that may worsen glucose control in diabetic and pre-diabetic patients. Please note that no drug may cause diabetes, except those that may destroy the pancreas (side effect). The drugs only worsen glucose control. If one's body is able to cope efficiently with the glucose load then one's not going to develop diabetes no matter what drug one uses.
Statins are well-known for causing a higher than usual blood glucose. Some more than others. Pitavastatin is supposed to be the exception.
Diuretics may also worsen diabetes control.
Corticosteroids may cause higher blood glucose even in the absence of diabetes or
pre-diabetes.
And there are other drugs (less commonly used) that may also cause it like
pentamidine for example. Pentamidine may cause pancreatic damage and persistent
hyperglycemia.
Regarding drugs for diabetes, the only real concern is about the drugs that may cause
pancreatitis like the GLP-1 agonists and the DPP4 inhibitors.
Your question was not very clear, so I hope I've addressed all the issues. It wasn't clear to me whether you wanted information about diabetes medications or medications in general. I believe it's the latter, so I answered accordingly.
Kind Regards!
