I been on Divan and Corec Cr for several years and expericing side effects such as swollen ankles. weak muscular. weight gain sinius congestion are among some problems. These problems are getting worse as I get older. I was jogging and felt in really great shape at 65 until I got the recommeded physical. Now at 77 I have never experiencd one irregular heart beat. I can walk at least 3.5 miles at least three times a week but experiece these dam swollen ankles and and feet and have to quit for a week or more. I also had a bad case of gout diogosed by a doctor one week after these B blockers and Ace Inhibitors 11 years ago. I am just venting and do not expect an answer. if I know now 11 years ago I would probably be found lying on side of the road but but WITHOUT SIDE EFFECTS. Its to late to reverse anything.
Hi, although you're not expecting an answer but we at HCM care! :) There are some studies which revealed the side effect of peripheral edema which can be causing the ankle joint swelling, when the combination of Diovan and Coreg CR is used specially in age group of 60+. However, both the medicines alone can cause the swelling of feet and ankles in minority of patients. A discussion with the treating doctor for adjustment of dose and the necessity of diuretic which thows water out of the body, may be considered.
