Hi & Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concern.
Famynor is
combined oral contraceptive pill which contains the hormones oestrogen and progestogen. The most common side effects of Famynor include:
breakthrough bleeding, weight gain, skin pigmentation, hirsutism,
nausea, vomiting, & migraine. The serious side effects include:
venous thromboembolism (clot formation in the veins) which can increase the risk of
myocardial infarction & stroke. Liver diseases like
obstructive jaundice & adenomas (tumors) are other less commonly reported side effects.
Heavy bleeding while on birth control pills is a side effect of the pill itself which would subside later.
However, if you are unable to bear this, it would be better to use an another form of contraceptive pill or other methods of contraception which would suit you well.
These pills are taken for 21 days and discontinued for the following 6-7 days. During this period the "red pills" which actually contain iron are administered and during this week you have a period-type bleed. Then you start taking the pill again after 7 days.
Hope this has cleared your doubts.
