What Are The Side Effects Of Gyna Guard And Wipes To Keep Vagina Clean?
Hi Doc, I am concerned about my little sister, she is 25yrs old and has joined the trend of using gyna guard capsules and wipes to keep her vagina smelling clean ? (Search me what the clean smell of a vagina is??? #rollingeyes#). What are the side effects of these products?
In case of any offensive vaginal discharge or any other issue your sister should get clinically examined by a gynecologist. The content mentioned may be of no use or even harmful. Your sister should consult a medical practitioner before using it. The use of these products commonly prevent the growth of the healthy bacteria required to fight off infection.
Use of moisturizes and spermicides may also cause harm. Usage of feminine moisturizer and spermicides quickly stifle the growth of good bacteria present in the vagina. Douching should be also avoided. It triggers PID, BV, cervical cancer, and infertility, etc. She should take care of her hygiene, avoid multiple partners & perform safe sex.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
