What Are The Side Effects Of Implanon Implant?

I am an 18-year-old female and have the implanon in my arm with a little over six months remaining on it. I have now been bleeding for 24 days straight, at first spotting a dark brown color, then went to bright red and became heavier only it was not the normal consistency; it was coming out like water. It began to slow so I m spotting like I was in the beginning. My breasts have become swollen and tender, I ve been having moderate cramping and severe lower left side back pain that comes and goes. I ve been extremely nauseous, I have a hard time finding anything that s not gross to eat and can smell things from long distances that make me want to puke (cheese and barbecue sauce) which used to be my favorite foods. I ve also had mood swings and heightened emotions. Example: Asked my fiance if he was going to come to bed with me since I had work in the early morning and he replied he wasn t tired and I began to cry. Is it possible I m pregnant or all just my birth control giving out?

Hello,
The most common side effect of implanon is change in your normal bleeding pattern. You may experience longer or shorter bleeding during your periods or have no bleeding at all.Time between periods may vary and you may experience spotting in between periods. In fact one out of 10 females stop using implant because of bleeding problems.
Since you are bleeding very heavily,it is advised that you consult your doctor.
Breast tenderness, mood swings, nausea are other side effects of this drug.
Thanks
