Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am a 26 yr old male and addicted to kamini tablets for about a year now. I have 4-5 tablets a day, two tablets per dose. Plz tell me what are the effects on my health, my sex life and plz also tell me the best way to quit them. I also smoke more after having the tablets to enhance the effect. Thank you
Kamini is an over the counter Ayurvedic formulation intended for treating men’s sexual problems like erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation. However there is no clinical study done to prove its safety and efficacy in treating such conditions.
Moreover it contains opium as an important active ingredient which can cause euphoria, constipation, vomiting, dependence, addiction and withdrawal symptoms if stopped suddenly.
You should avoid taking it. Its dose should be gradually reduced over several days under the supervision of a doctor to prevent withdrawal symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
