Hello,

There are many side effects of Meprate but the side effects may vary from person to person. Some may experience only a few while some may not.

The side effects are Dizziness, headache, decrease urine output, depression, puffy eyes, reduces bone density, acne, liver & kidney problems, sleeplessness, etc.

Yes, you can take meprate(oral progesterone, the hormone progesterone helps to correct hormone imbalance and reduce menorrhagia.) prescribed by your treating doctor.

You can take tranexamic acid, it helps reduce menstrual blood loss. However, you are suggested to get USG(uterus) done to detect any fibroid or developing endometriosis. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K
