Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
had unprotected sex on 9 october ...........her period started on 3 october ....so it was the sixth day ............ no ejaculation inside .....her period is due yet as of 13 nov .... and she tested two pregnancy strips negative on 10 and 11 nov... my friend doctor advised her to take modus 10 tablets . is is safe ?? can she be pregnant ??
Modus contains medroxyprogesterone which is similar to the progesterone hormone naturally produced by the body. It regulates periods, stop irregular bleeding and helps with withdrawal bleeding in case of amenorrhea. It is safe and effective medication if it is taken as your doctor's advice. Your doctor will decide how much you need to take and for how much time. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you.
Progesterone is important in the regulation of ovulation and menstruation. It is used to cause menstrual periods in women who haven't reached menopause but are not having periods because of a lack of natural progesterone in their body. It is ideal to take test for pregnancy after 7 days of a missed period in the morning.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
