Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was using Clostilbegyt (Clomiphene Citrate BP 50 mg), and had lots of side effects, headaches, hot flashes, increased appetite... spoke to my OBGYN and she said to ask the pharmacist for another option for Clomid (which is not sold in Jamaica). The pharmacist recommended Ova MIT. Do you know whether the side effects would be similar?
Thanks for posting your question on HCM! I really appreciate your concern about the safety of ova MIT. Actually both are the brand names of the same drug Clomiphene citrate 50 mg used for the treatment of infertility due to anovulatory cycles.
In addition to the above mentioned side effects, these drugs are also known to cause multiple pregnancy, ovarian cyst, and ovarian malignancy (on prolonged use).
I hope your doubt has been clarified. Wishing you best of your health.
