Hi,

Proluton depot injection contains hydroxyprogesterone which is used to prevent premature labor in pregnant women in order to reduce the risk of giving birth too early. It prevents miscarriage and lower the risk of premature birth in women who have had one premature delivery in the past. Side effects of Proluton depot injection are pain, swelling or redness at the injection site, nodules, hives, nausea, diarrhea, itching, elevated liver enzymes like SGPT and SGOT, symptoms of allergic reactions like rashes, itching, swelling of lips, tongue or throat, breathing difficulties, wheezing, dizziness etc. If you suffer from these types of side effects, you should consult your doctor promptly. Proluton depot is absolutely safe for the baby. It has been used successfully for several years. Please ensure by ultrasound that the growth of the baby is ok. Usually, Proluton depot injection is a safe and best medicine.

Take care. Hope I have answered your questions. Let me know if I can assist you further.
