hello there, i am just wondering, i have decided to quit smoking, i am currently on day 6, the last three days i have had a real bad throat then yesterday i lost my voice. Today my throat is a lot better and i am able to swallow properly but i literally have no voice i am barely struggling to wishper. is this normal
no, this is very unusual with quitting smoking. indeed the opposite is most commonly true... peple's throat feeling better afterwards. Cannot say in your particular case what is occurring without an exam and..... minor throat infections are very common anyway and a coincedence is very very likely. often, when people quite smoking, the lungs heal up and people begin to cough up decades of accumulated junk. this can irritate the throat. sometimes people gain weight with quitting smoking or eat and drink more or become... fretful. any or all of these can cause increased stomach acidity and/or reflux.. and this irritates the throat.
dunno which might be occurring in you.
