I am 30years old and this is my 1st baby. I am pregnant of 10 weeks and 6 days as per our ultra sonography report. But there is a comment "Placenta is low lying with small retro-placentral clot seen" in this report. please suggest everthing is ok? Is my baby physical and mentally well? Should i birth this baby? Please suggest.. i am very tense. Pl help...
It means that a small part of the placenta has separated from the uterine wall resulting in blood clot formation. In most cases the the clot resolves without treatment. A small clot is unlikely to affect your baby. So you can continue with the pregnancy. I would advise you to reduce your activities for two weeks and repeat ultrasound after two weeks to reassure yourself that everything is okay with the baby. Discuss with your doctor and use progesterone support for one month.
