What Are The Side Effects Of Siphene And Susten?

I am 30 yrs old and weigh 54 kgs.I have been advised to have Siphene and Susten 50 mg for three months by my doctor for succesful pregnancy.My TSH is 5.3 and I did have PCOD some time back. My periods are somehwat regular(30-32 days cycle).What can be the side effects of these tablets and what are my chances of getting pregnant?

Hello,

- These drugs are commonly used in combination to promote a successful conception
- Siphene is a drug that helps stimulate your ovaries to produce eggs --> Ovulation induction
- Can occasionally cause hot flashes, nausea, bloating, etc.
-- Susten is a drug that contains progesterone and helps prepare your uterus for a successful fertilization followed by maintaining the pregnancy
- Can occasionally cause headaches, nausea, breast tenderness, etc.
- There are no major side effects that you should experience with these drugs
- Make sure you take these drugs regularly, at the same time every day. And as per your OBGYNs advise, time intercourse with the siphon doses (5-10 days after taking the pills)
- You should also have your PCP look into your TSH which is just above normal. You may need to repeat the test at a different point of your menstrual cycle.
