Hi,
Solupred 20 mg contains methylprednisolone which is used to treat conditions like
arthritis, blood disorders, severe allergic reactions, certain cancers, eye conditions, skin and
soft tissue disorders, lung diseases and immune system disorders. It decreases the immune system's response to various diseases and reduces symptoms such as swelling, pain and allergic type reactions. This medication is a corticosteroid hormone. Solupred may also be used with other medications in hormone disorders.
Some people who take steroid medications can develop a type of acne commonly known as steroid acne. Even at low doses, Solupred can cause skin problems. This includes pimples or acnes, skin thinning, excess hair growth or hirsutism, hair thinning, face redness, stripe like marks on the skin or stria and impaired
wound healing.
Isotretinoin, doxycycline,
minocycline etc., can be used to subside the pimples or acnes. If these acnes persist for long or bother you, then you should consult your doctor promptly for medical attention.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Zubayer Alam, General And Family Physician
