Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Are The Side Effects Of Taking Amatryptolein?
I ve been experiencing multiple side effects of taking amatryptolein. Pounding heart beat, racing heart rate, tingling sensation, dry mouth, shortness of breath at times, heaveyness on chest at times and so on. Been taking it a lil over two weeks because my doctor thinks I have anxiety... Never had anxiety in my like. How long will it take to get this crap out of my system?
Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query. I understand your concern. The symptoms you describe are typical of anxiety bordering on a panic attack. Amitriptyline which is a tricyclic antidepressant can have all these side effects. I think you should stop it and see your doctor. If there is a delay in getting an appointment, you could try a small dose of a beta blocker if you do not have asthma or diabetes to give some relief to your anxiety symptoms. I shall be happy to answer your queries. Take Care, Dr Noble Zachariah
