Hi, My mother is 87 years old. Has previously has a very painful reaction to Boniva. Her new Dr. wanted her to try Alendronate Sodium. I reminded him about the Boniva reaction. Now he wants her to try Prolia. Do you think this is her best option?
Hello. If your mother had pain due to Ibandronate intake, probably will too have pain with Alendronate;both drugs belong to the same group called Bisphosphonates.Denosumab is an effective treatment but their use requires strict medical control. Another effective option is Teriparatide. Please consult your doctor for a prescription.I wish you good health. (If the answer has helped you, please indicate this)
