General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Steroids on long-term use can cause stomach ulcer, high blood sugar, high blood pressure, weight gain, thinning of the bones which may result in fractures, cataract, thinning of the skin, mood changes, increased risk of infection, and acute adrenal crisis if stopped abruptly. She must report to her doctor if she experiences these side effects.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
