I'm a hypothroid patient &my vitamin d level is 11 . My doc gave uprise d 60.000 iu for 2 month one tab per week. After completing the course I still have body pains particurly hands & legs . Do I need to continue with the same medicine . If yes for how long. Does it have any side effects?

Hi.Thanks for writing on HCM. In my practice I have not seen side effects in people taking vitamin D, unless too much is taken. Some side effects of taking too much vitamin D include weakness, fatigue, sleepiness, headache, loss of appetite, dry mouth, metallic taste, nausea, vomiting etc.Hope this answers your query.
