What Are The Side Effects Of Using Emergency Contraceptive Pills?

Hi there , me and my boyfriend had sex with a condom, after 1 day I took plan b to ensure I couldn t get pregnant. Now my period is a little less than a week early, but has bin heavy for 9 days now. Are these just symptoms of the plan b? It s not spotting it is very heavy. Please help

First dose taken within 72 hrs followed by a second dose 12 hrs after the second dose, these pills are very safe and do not cause abortion or harm future fertility however the following side effects which are mild can occur:

Nausea and/or vomiting, headache, feeling dizzy & tired, lower abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding, and breast tenderness.

Yes, these are the side effects of Plan-B.

Since you have some sort of heavy vaginal bleeding, I advise you to consult a gynecologist further evaluation to find out the causes of bleeding like hormonal imbalances, etc and its treatment accordingly.
