What Are The Side Effects Of Venlafaxine?

2 months ago I started weaning myself off escitalopram 20 mg.went down to 2.5 mg.Have not taken anything for 3 days.I am pretty nervous and feel terrible. My doctor gave me a prescription for venlafaxine 37.5 mg. I am so scared to take it. The reason I stopped taking escitalopram was ,I craved sugar and sweets.Never ate healthy food. Also had no sex drive. Will venlafaxine be any different. I also have insomnia. I take .5 mg of Xanax. I have never heard of venlafaxine before. can you give me some information on that drug.
