Hi, i am 18 5 4 and about 183 pounds, well i ve been thinking about doing a 30 day water fast But i was just wondering. How bad of an idea is this? what are some major side affects? although i am doing for more spiritual reasons how much weight could i possibly lose? Are the side affects going to be completely dramatic and irreversible. Well once i get off of it im going stick to healthy eating and exercise, would the weight stay off?
If at all you intend on consuming only water over the next 30-days (which is what I understood from the 'water fast'), this is a horrible idea. You could become severely malnutritioned and even have to be hospitalized if things go wrong. which they so easily can. Please do not do this, instead what you can do is go on a liquid diet which should include regular shakes with vegetables and fruits in it, this will help to lose weight and should be accepted by your religious beliefs as well.
Weight loss can be drastic with such diets, and special monitoring and emphasis should be given to cardiac health.
