I suspect a child in my class is ADHD. He displays almost every symptom/sign of impulsivity and hyperactivity with some signs of inattention. His grandmother says at home that he doesn t show signs of hyperactivity, but does admit he is spoiled (only child, 7.5 yrs., home-schooled last year by grandmother after poor performance academically and socially after first quarter of 1st grade last year). What other behavior or social interaction conditions should I be looking at to see how he may receive help?
I went through your details. I know you must have checked online available articles to diagnose your child's conditions. I also advise you to consult a psychologist to get a proper diagnosis with the help of expert assessment methodology. Expert assessment helps in differential diagnosis. Your son, if he is not showing signs of hyperactivity at home, may not be diagnosed as ADHD. Let the psychologist do the diagnosis.
