What Are The Signs And Symptoms Of A Hyperextended Knee?

Hello, last night I believe I hyper-extended my knee, but cannot be sure. Can you tell me some signs and symptoms and if seeing a doctor is necessary? I took a sideways step, and it felt like my knee came off the hinges so to speak. No difference in pain today.

Hi
Welcome to healhcaremagic
After going through your query I concluded that you got hyperextended your knee last night. Hyperextension means when one extend it, tibia is little anterior to femur. If you have pain then you have to see a Doctor. If it has no pain then no treatment is required at present. You can discuss with your Doctor about it.Hope your query answered. If you have any clarification please don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to help you .
Wishing you a good health. Take care.
