hi,good evening i just want to ask,is it possible that age 30 will have a stomack worms?because i just saw in my feces and just today i fell itchy on my butt and when i go to the washroom and sit in the bowl i saw the worm in my underware..and im really so scared.and what should i do?please help me.thank you so much.
I have read the query and it is very much possible that you may have acquired a worm infestation from intake of contaminated food or water. The symptoms you describe can be of a worm infestation especially a pinworm and as you are seeing worms in your stool it most likely may not be bacterial infection causing diarrhea.
Don't be scared, examination of your stools will reveal the exact type of worms and help in the proper treatment. After the confirmed diagnosis,I usually prescribe my patients with anti helminthics like tab.albendazole,tab.mebendazole.
Certain measures are important to prevent re infection:
1.Washing your hands regularly with soap before food, avoiding outside unhealthy food.
2.Washing the vegetables before consumption.
3.Chances of infection to your family members are high after confirmation of infection by stool examination so they will require preventive treatment in that case so consult your physician.
Hope this answers your query.
Regards, Dr.Tushar Tamboli
