I am 33 weeks pregnant. For about the past two weeks ive been feeling contractions (could be Braxton Hicks) and for the past week ive had swollen and numb hands and fingers off and on. Also my arms will feel extremely tired; almost like my limbs are "dead". Ive been counting fetal movement and have only felt him move about three times in the past hour.
Hello, Feeling of occasional tightening of the abdomen is an usual finding at this stage of the pregnancy. If these contractions become more frequent, painful and associated with vaginal discharge, either bleeding or draining, pain radiating to the back and the thighs, this means you are going into labor. False contractions can occur when there is some urinary or pelvic infection. In such a case, treatment of this infection solves the problem. Swelling and numbness of the extremities is suggestive of pressure effects which needs proper evaluation and management. Dupuytren's contracture is a common observation associated with pregnancy with similar symptoms. Hope this helps.
