im 13 years old i am 5 4 and weigh about 110 i have lost allmost 10 pounds in a month. i constantly think i am fat. i am always told i am not fat but i just cant see it. I eat about 600 calories a day. am i starting to go down the path of anerexia? and if so how can i stop?
I appreciate your effort to seek help for your weight and eating problems. Many of the symptoms that you have described are indeed suggestive of an eating disorder, namely Anorexia.
-Rapid loss of weight -Abnormal perception of being fat -Severe food / calorie restriction These are all core features of anorexia. Now that you have been able to identify your problem, it is very essential to seek help.
Early intervention will prevent you from developing a serious illness and complications. Treatment is in the form of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. So, please tell your parents or your school counsellor about your problems and ask for a psychiatric consultation.
