What Are The Symptoms And Treatment For Bipolar Disorder?

I have a co-worker who suddenly has become a person we don't know. She has made inappropriate comments, screamed across the hallway with leadership in our office, has shown body parts making some inappropriate comments, talking about sex. She starts talking about one subject then gets very animated and loud. She skips from one subject to the next, talkd very fast. We are wondering if this could be a psychiatric issue or getting ready to have a vervous breakdown, or on amphetamines.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
This is for sure a case for psychiatrist. The signs you mention are ssimiliar to the bipolar disorder. But is up to the specialist to find if this episode is due to amphetamine or any other drug or is pure bipolar disorder. In case it is bipolar disorder it is the case to begin treatment with valproate maybe, always under doctor supervision

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. Your friend needs to be evaluated thoroughly for mental disorder. His condition seems to be more than anger, aggression or bi-polar. What is the age of your co-worker? Any more symptoms which you could share? Like forgetting where she is and what she is doing even when she is not in rage etc. Alzheimer's Disease & Dementia could manifest some symptoms as you mentioned. Or this could just be spontaneous reaction to anger and being aggressive in a nasty way. Let psychiatrist diagnose.

Hope this answers your query. Available for further clarifications.
Good luck.
