What Are The Symptoms And Treatment For Hemorrhoids?

Hi, I am a 38 year old female who has been going through IVF procedures. Since the most recent egg retrieval, I went into ovary hyperstimulation. Shortly after seeing my doctor, I have been having problems with what I thought was HSV1, which I had been exposed to due to my ex. I thought it was an outbreak, so I got my prescription of Valtrex at the pharmacy. However, it has not gotten any better. I have had itchiness, burning, bleeding in and around the anal area, Could this be something else such as hemmoroids?

     I have gone through your question and understood your concern. It appears to be an outbreak of HSV2 virus, not HSV 1. HSV 2 is associated with genital lesion while HSV 1 remains limited to perioral region. The symptoms you described is not hinting towards hemorrhoids, as in hemorrhoids there is a mass / lump coming out of the anus. Its treatment is antiviral medication. If such a patient walk into my clinic I perform digital rectal examination, proctoscopy if necessary and prescribe tab acyclovir 200mg 5 times a day for 5 days along with local treatment with betnovate ointment and analgesic for pain relief. Since these are prescription medicine you need to see a general surgeon or dermatologist. I wish rapid and full recovery.
