Hi Doctor, I had developed 2 white patches on my upper chest and thought it was fungal infection since I had just started taking swimming lessons. At that time I just ignored it and applied some antifungal. Later it developed on my neck so the doctor prescribed elocon cream and surbex xt tablets. I applied that and some marks are faded although not completely disappeared. Also at the side of my neck it seems to be spreading and has developed into a bigger patch. I have recently started applying the medicine now on my neck. Please could you tell me if this is vitiligo as I saw one doctor who told me it is pityriasis alba. I am 35 yrs old. Ccan it occur in adults. Then later I went to the same doc who told me on one side it looks like vitiligo but he still thinks its P alba. I have one spot on my forhead and others on neck and side of neck and 2 on upper chest.Pls help
Hello. Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com. I have read your query. I understand your concern. P. alba can occur in any age group. Although ot is common in children. Initial stage of vitiligo known as Previtiligo is often confused with P.alba. I would advise you to upload images so that I can actually visualize the rash and help you to my best. Take care
