Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My right calf was hit from behind by a dog running full speed. I was told I looked like one of those cartoon characters that slipped on a banana peel. I went airborne, parallel to the ground about 3 feet high and landed flat on my back and head. When my friend came to check on me, she said I just laid there blinking for about 3 seconds not responding to anything. My neck hurts to tilt it and the back of my head is really sore. Is it possible that I have a concussion? My ankle is slightly swollen and red with a few gravel abrasions. I can t walk on it at all unless it s tightly wrapped. Even then, it s a slow painful shuffle. It is possible to break a fibula this way?
If required you may need MRI ankle for soft tissue involvement. Till time you can use supportive splint or brace. There is possibility of ankle fracture.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
