i am a teenage girl. i am almost positive i am depressed. i looked at some symptoms of depression online and found that i had the majority of them. i dont know how reliable those websites might have been so i was wondering if you could give me some official symptoms. and i was wondering if theres a test or questionnaire i could take to see if i truly am depressed.

I can understand your concerns.To diagnose depression we usually follow DSM criteria according to which you should have 4 symptoms for 2 weeks out of : 1.sadness of mood 2.loss of interest in previously enjoyable activities 3.sleep disturbances:decrease or increase in sleep 4.appetite disturbances:5% change in weight in 1 month 5.easy fatiguability 6.Change in activity: Psychomotor agitation or retardation 7.Guilt/worthlessness:Feelings of worthlessness or excessive guilt 8.Concentration: diminished ability to think or concentrate 9.Suicidality:Thoughts of death or suicide, or has suicide plan
