What Are The Symptoms Of Depression?

hello. ive been having a few symptoms for a month or so now, which include sickness, constantly dizziness, imense head pain, tinlging fingers, right side of my face is numb, i have no energy and a sharp pain in my chest. i have collapsed a couple of times due to dizziness and my sight goes bad when i get the sharp pain in my head which shots down my back. i have been to A and E and the doctors. They at the moment are putting it down to depression, i get down but im not really depressed that i need anti depressants for, which he has offered me. is there anything else that you think it could be? as its really starting to freak me out as i cant go anywhere as i dont have any energy and keep falling. many thanks

I can understand your concern.
If you have not got thyroid function tested , I would consider it. Few other test like hemoglobin level, vitamin B12 level should also be tested. Many symptoms you are suffering can be due to system affected by thyroid,vitaminB12 and hemoglobin.
For diagnosing depression feeling sadness and or disinterest in surrounding is most prominent symptoms.
Most of the symptoms you have described can be seen in depression. But detailed evaluation of symptoms and mental status examination is required by psychiatrist in some of the cases which are not straight forward depression.
So, consult psychiatrist for further help if needed.
