I was have symptoms of a perfect textbook case of a yeast infection. So I treated for a yeast infection, without going to a doctor. I used monistat7 Like the package said, all of the symptoms went away in 3 days. I had no side effects at all. I was just curious, if it was herpes symptoms and not a yeast infection, would the symptoms have went away
Hi, Welcome to HCM. Genital herpes manifests with the appearance of tiny grouped vesicles containing clear fluid, which would rupture within a day to give rise to tiny grouped ulcers with or without pain. These ulcers have a tendency for spontaneous cure within a week or two. The treatment for yeast (Monistat), has no effect on Herpes lesions. So it is unlikely that you have Genital Herpes, but there is every every possibility to miss the presence of other STDs and there is a chance of relapse of yeast when the treatment is inadequate or partner not got treated. So self Medication is not advisable and try to consult a physician and get his/her guidance. Dr S.Murugan
