I have multiple pulmonary embolisms in right upper and lower lobes, only symptom prior to diagnosis SOB. Hemoglobin 10.5, eosinophils low, otherwise CBC within normal ranges. 53 years old. No DVT's, no history of PE's, facotr V leiden negative. I'm trying to figure out cause. Some physicial changes point towards Cushings. Have history of parathyroid adenoma. Worried about malignancy.
Thanks for your question on HCM. Pulmonary embolism with out DVT (Deep venous thrombosis) is less likely due to malignancy. So no need to worry much for malignancy as a cause. There are other causes like 1. Connective tissue diseases 2. Storage diseases 3. Primary pulmonary hypertension. 4. Protien C deficiency. 5. Protien S deficiency. 6. Hypervitaminosis k. 7. HIV infection etc. So better to rule out these causes first.
