Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a low anion gap at 6.8. Over the past years (2010-2014) , my levels have fluctuated from 9 to as high as 13. I have no other symptoms and actually feel fine. Should I be concerned? Some sites report that this low gap score is indicative of multiple myeloma .
Multiple myeloma produce many other symptoms beside this . So before there is any variation in anion gap you will be diagnosed . I would recommend you to get your blood examined for M band protein which is most specific and sensitive test for multiple myeloma.
