What Are The Symptoms Of Potential Pregnancy?

Hi. My wife had her last periods on July 11th. According to the doctors she should be 11 weeks pregnant. But according to reports only 5 weeks. The reports that we got on 16th sep said single intrauterine gestational sac seen. No fetal pole seen yet. GS size 0.53 cms. The dr said we are at very early stage. Ten days later on 25th sep we got another test done. This time the GS size is 1.6cms n it says 5weeks 0 days +8d. But still no fetal pole. My wife doesn t have any signs of miscarriage. She has all the symptoms of a proper preganancy so far. Should we be worried? The Dr was very blunt in saying that something could be wrong and asked us to come back 3 days later. My wife is been worried since.. crying. Please advice.

Hello sir,I understand your concern .In my opinion the fetal pole is seen at 6 wks and fetal cardiac activity at 7 wks in abdominal scan.If the fetal pole is not seen at this age we can wait still more 2 or 3 weeks and repeat the ultrasound.but still if it is not seen better to terminate the pregnancy.Because that indicates a genetic problem where in fetal pole is not developed and the condition is called blighted ovum.These type of cases are routinely seen.
Dont worry mostly that may not repeat in further pregnancies.
Give a gap of 3 months and then plan to conceive .Start taking folic acid tablets one month before conceiving.
