General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, It is claimed that emergency contraceptiveplan B,taken within36 hours of unprotected sex reduces risk of pregnancy by 89%. But you also have two pregnancy tests recently done -ve, again suggesting no pregnancy. To confirm the results of urine pregnancy test error- you can go for blood HCG test/ USG pelvic region. Plan B has side effects of irregular bleeding, nausea, breast tenderness- which are similar to pregnancy. & diagnosis of pregnancy is by pregnancy test/ sonographic test. In case pregnancy is excluded you should consult a gynecologist for evaluating other causes of delay in periods. Thanks
