Hallow Dear,
In fact, the first cardinal symptom of
pregnancy is missing a period; though occasionally, some amount of bleeding at the time of expected menses is known which is called as placental sign. Now that you are getting some bleeding, watch it carefully whether it s menses or not.
The other symptoms of early pregnancy start appearing sometimes after about a week of missed period. They are:
1.
Nausea and
vomiting with pica
2. Frequency of urination
3. Breast symptoms:
a. Engorgement and tenderness
b. Dark discolouration of nipples and
areola with areolar widening
c. Montgomery's tubercles under the areola
d. Secretions through the nipples
Swelling of the eyelids and face are not signs of pregnancy. You might get urine examined to find any evidence of urinary infection.
If the situation and the symptoms still keep you in dilemma about the presence of pregnancy, you can sort it out by pregnancy test on urine. This test gives most reliable results if performed about a week after the missed period on overnight first morning urine sample. Earlier, they may give false negative results.
Alternatively, you may opt for
Beta hCG test on the blood. This is a very sensitive test and can diagnose the pregnancy even few days before missing period.
I hope this helps you resolve your dilemma.
