Hi, after doing abit of research I think I have scabies. I had what look like a burrow on my wrist a few weeks ago, now both my arms are itchy, on my stomach a small bit too. I also have allergies and wonder could I be mistaking it for that. I squeezed one of the spots and all that came out was fluid, no mite.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The symptoms of scabies are thick crusts on the skin, icing increases at night, itching is severe so as to make the person restless. Left untreated, it spreads and is contagious. Usually seen in neck, head, palms, soles of feet, webs between the fingers, knees, waists, umbilicus. It looks like rash with small bumps and blisters. Take care of your hygiene. Oral scabicidal drugs work well, topical application of Ascabiol from head downwards and bath after an hour or so is effective. It can be repeated after a week or 15 days. Get your laundry properly washed and cleaned in Savlon/dettol. Avoid sex.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K.
