Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have just found out I am vitamin D deficient and had an iron level of 6.My doctor has prescribed ferrious sulphate and Aciferol D3 20,000 unit tablets twice weekly.I have been taking them for a week and feel worse,my legs and arms ache and shake and I have a constant headache, are these symptoms of these conditions and will they feel better over time?Thank you
You may be having severe vit D deficiency and you may need to repeat supplement. You may need 2 more doses at interval of 4 weeks. Effect of this dose of vitamin D will take 2 to 6 week’s time to show results.
Physiotherapy sessions may help to reduce pain, so I advise to take physiotherapy.
You may need to continue iron supplement.
