What Are The Thick Scaly White Patches On The Scalp?

My son is 9 years old and I just found very thick white scaly patches in his scalp. I asked him what shampoo he was using and he said AXE. That is my husbands AXE body wash. He thought it was shampoo. It looks like thick cradle cap but feels like bumps in his scalp. What do I use to get rid of this?
