What Are The Treatments For Muscle Cramps And Problems In Calf And Thigh After Knee Replacement Surgery?
After having knee replacement surgery my husband now has muscle cramps and muscle problems in his calf and the back of his thigh. Before this surgery for 5 years he was unable to extend this leg. Are the problems he is having now due to the fact these muscles are too weak. If yes, what do you recommend.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The recurrent muscle cramps after a knee replacement surgery are likely to be due to a muscle weakness in the area or an electrolyte imbalance. Doing proper strengthening exercises and electrolyte intake will help. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Praveen Tayal , drtayal72@gmail.com
