hello, my husband suffers from tooth pain and swallowing caused by fixed root canal few days ago..he took 800 mg ibuprofen yesterday, didnt help, then three 500 mg Tylenol today at 6 am and then three 500 mg Tylenol today at 11,30 am along with the penicillin.. still in pain .. my question is can i give him a pill of diclofenac and when? thank you!
Hello As you mentioned that there is pain in the tooth due to fixed root canal . Your husband have taken , iburpofen 800 mg , tylenol 500 mg 3-4 times , penicillin and now , you want diclofenac . No, doubt this is a potent pain killer like brufen (ibuprofen ) but in my opinion this will be better for you consult a dental surgeon (2nd opinion ) and get his opinion that why swelling is there . This swelling may be due to impacted pus below the tooth ( that's why so potent anti inflammatory drugs are not providing desired relief in pain). So consult a dental doctor and thereafter take some treatment . However for time being you can give diclofenac tablet as pain killer. Good luck.
