Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Will the fentanyl patch help with BMS. I m still on Klonipin, oxycodone, ambien, and harvoni for liver. I want to get off all these drugs and live a normal life. Is there any dr any where who can take BMS away. I don t know how much longer I can go. This is hell
I understand your concern and I am sorry you are going through this. Burning mouth syndrome is a very frustrating condition. In order for me to give you a more complete question, I would need more information regarding your condition, that would allow me to figure out whether this is primary BMS, meaning the causes are unknown, or secondary BMS, meaning it is a symptom of another underlying condition. The medication you are taking suggests mostly that it is primary BMS and it is usually the main therapy for this condition. What I can tell you is to consider cognitive therapy, which has proved successful in many cases with primary BMS. This therapy would also eliminate the need for medication.
I hope this helps. Wishing you all the best.
