Hello, yes please advise on this question. I have a young aid who comes in my home to tend to my 95 year old mother and myself. Her children have head lice and have been restricted from school. Should I be concerned about getting them from her and what can I do to prevent it?
Since both close personal contact and clothing/fomites can transmit lice to the unaffected, so the best way to prevent is to get treated the ones who are infected.
Treatment is by 1% permethrin creme rinse which should be applied on to air dried hair after shampoo, to the whole length of hair and left over for at least 30 min before shampooing again. Single appliaction is usually sufficient
take care regards
