What Can I Do About An Insect Bite On The Foot Of A Child Which Became A Swollen Blister?

Hi! My baby that’s one has a big bite on her foot. It looks like she was bit a few times. Her foot is swollen, the skin on top is very hard, it’s warm & she even had a huge clear blister that popped on the top of her second to last toe. It’s been 24hrs now & im not sure if I should take her to the hospital or not?

Hello,

What your baby presents are signs of inflammation, if you have the dosage you can try some oral or topical anti-inflammatory. However, it is important that you go to a center where they can observe the characteristics of the bite and see if it requires any specific treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mariana Josefina Sanchez, Pediatrician
