What Can I Do About Painful Swelling In The Genitals After Rough Sex?

Hi, I had some rough sex with my boyfriend and now it feels like my happy is swollen. I have a confirmed UTI but this feels like more. No matter what it feels like I’m about to pee myself, even when I pee I have that major “holding pee” sensation and it hurts. I stuck my finger inside of me to confirm it was my g spot area and it is. Imagine if someone what pushing on that spot 24/7 that’s how it feels, but not in a good way. I have to brace myself to pee not only because of the UTI but because of this too, it feels almost as of it’s clamping down and throbbing all the time.

Hello,

You are suggested to get clinically examined by a urologist, get repeat urinalysis (R/E and C/S) done so that you can be treated with a course of specific antibiotics that will help to get rid of infection. You are advised to avoid using public washrooms. Take water and fluids in adequate amount, do not get dehydrated.

Take care of your hygiene, be gentle with yourself. Stay away from any sexual activity or self-pleasuring till you have healed. You can take acetaminophen, one stat when needed to get rid of pain, inflammation and swelling. You can apply ointment Soframycin on the affected area after gently cleaning, to help prevent infection.

Do not touch or scratch. Get clinically examined and evaluated by a urologist. Get required blood tests and imaging tests done to detect bladder stone, interstitial cystitis, overactive bladder, pelvic floor issues, prostate issues (in men), diabetes, etc. Your treatment will depend on the underlying disease / pathology detected. Get treated. Avoid drinking excessive water. Take meals in time, do not skip meals.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
