Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Can I Do To Relieve The Pain When Diagnosed With Costochondritis, Ablation And Atrial Fibrillation?
I had costrochondritis a year ago that lasted for four months.. It eventually went away.. Last week I had a catheter ablation to treat atrial fibrillation. I now have costrochondritis again.. Did the ablation cause it? What can I do to relieve the pain?
The costochondritis could be reactivated by the trauma caused by the ablation. Anyway, it is important to start therapy with Ibuprofen or Naproxen as soon as possible , in order to treat inflammation.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
