What Can I Do To Relieve The Swelling And Rigidness Caused Due To Punctured Finger With Thorn?

On Sunday I was trimming a rose thorn bush and my finger was punctured by a thorn. I removed the thorn, but my finger is quite swollen and stiff. What can I do to relieve the swelling and rigidness in the joint of my finger. It is painful to bend my finger at its joint. Thanks

Hello,

thanks for posting on HCM,

Provided that an infection has not accompanied the puncture, all you will require is ice pack and analgesic pain killers, then allow a couple of days for the swelling to clear off.
Place the finger in ice pack for about 15 minutes.
Take oral acetamenophen or ibuprofen for the pain.
Observe for signs of infection or abscess. If that occurs, then antibiotics will be needed.

Hope this helps
